HAND HYGIENE
-By Sarah Khan
With them,
you might shake your hands
They may
offer you something to hold
Damn! Those
germs your palm withstands
Your hand is
the prime transmitter of infections
Like you
touch, you hold you eat with it
Neither
getting infected nor infecting others
That’s what
you need to keep society fit
Now, one,
two, three, four, five
Once you wash
your hands and strive
Six, seven,
eight, nine, ten
Then I let
you do it again
Wet your
hands with running water
The water
should be lukewarm and clean
Rub your
palms together until it forms lather
Scrub for 20
seconds for better hygiene
Between your
fingers and under your nails
Lather also
on the back of your palm
Do you need
a timer for 20 seconds?
Sing happy
birthday song twice, cool and calm
Now, one,
two, three, four, five
Once you wash
your hands and strive
Six, seven,
eight, nine, ten
Then I let
you do it again
Whenever
your hands are unwashed
Do not touch
your eyes, nose, and mouth
Food and
drinks should not be taken
Otherwise
it’s like going head south
Wash your
hands before and after having a meal
And after
toileting, touching garbage or animal
Also after
caring for the sick person
Minimize the
risk of infections damnable
Now, one,
two, three, four, five
Once you wash
your hands and strive
Six, seven,
eight, nine, ten
Then I let
you do it again
Let me aware
you with the steps of handwashing
Wet your
hands and rub your palms together
Rub the back
of your hands and interlink your fingers
With clasped
hands, cup your fingers and swap in a lather
Now clean
the thumbs and rub as you rotate
Then swap
and swap, doing same on front and back
Rub the tips
of fingers and ends of your wrists
Finally rinse both hands with water in a knack
Now, one,
two, three, four, five
Once you wash
your hands and strive
Six, seven,
eight, nine, ten
Then I let
you do it again
In case
washing your greasy hands isn’t possible
You are
somewhere, maybe out of the town
An alcohol
based sanitizer can also be applied
With 60%
alcohol, it may kill germs all around
Mahatma Gandhi said it well once
"We must be the change that we want to see"
If we change our own habits for prevention
We could stop infections and set us all free
Now, one, two, three, four, five
Once you wash your hands and strive
Six, seven, eight, nine, ten
Then I let you do it again
AFTERTHOUGHT- This poem had been combined with the previously written poetry on COVID-19 and submitted for some competition. And fortunately, my poem won 1st prize. Initially, I thought that may seem boring poetry to readers, who like to know how to wash hands! However, it was important to know. But then it would rather be unfair if this award-winning poetry isn't posted. So here it is! Enjoy the reading and lemme know on which theme do you want me to make my next poetry/article on. I love hearing from you buddies!
Babbye
I enjoyed reading the poem!!
ReplyDelete🙂I would suggest the theme- "Social distancing" pertaining to the COVID19 pandemic.
