THE BOND OF FRIENDSHIP
- By SARAH KHAN
Walking through the life's Stark shadow
Will you embrace my imperfections
Wierd or crazy I maybe
I hope it's not a barrier to connections
Friendship is not about partying
Or merely hopping around the joyful times
Without an ounce of jealousy
Celebrate the victory with your partner in crimes
Of all the bonds that you have spent
Here I ask you, will you be my friend?
It's a flex to hang out with friends
People vanish when you need them the most
No matter how many tantrums I play
I want someone I can proudly call "dost"
One who respects my emotions
With whom I have nothing to hide
And act overdramatic or emotional
Nothing to regret and nothing denied
Of all the bonds that you have spent
Here I ask you, will you be my friend?
Friendship knows no genetics
Nor does it need a pretention
Well true friendship is imaginary
There's not even one I could mention
Proud to accompany me in public
Hold my hand and just be there
Without judging and making me insecure
Secrets and sorrows are here to share
Of all the bonds that you have spent
Here I ask you, will you be my friend?
Two as one, friends pledge their trust
Whether one is sincere, other is roaster
They don't leave each other's side
Whether on fights or emotional rollercoaster
Will you encourage me in my goals?
And support me in my turns and twists?
Does any friend really last long?
Or a perfect friendship doesn't exist?
Of all the bonds that you have spent
Here I ask you, will you be my friend?
