A ROSE IN THE TWILIGHT
- By SARAH KHAN
Stopped by the windy lane
Among the mallows
A dark secret swaying around
Like an adorable sight
The petunias, afraid to share
The story of its melodrama
They hide those thorns
Like a shadow in the night
Whisper in my ear, the pansies
The scent that attracts the flies
Carry a trap of Titanic
Like a well grown elite
Let them bloom but share
The tale that stands on thorns
With beauty that snatch the insect
Like the clever predators bite
By symbolizing love, enticing the heart
Silent yet scary is its poison
Delivers the germs to skin
Like a black patch in white
A blessing to eyes, those buds
Carry their beauty with strength
Catching the attention of eye
Like a wrong one among the right
And whisper in my ears, the petunias
The love stories they sustained
I embraced the thorns in my life
Like a rose in the twilight...
Beautiful poem :))
